Versions and kill switch

How SDK versions work, and how to require an update or pause journeys in your app.

Versioning

The SDK has its own version, separate from the platform's, as `major.minor.patch`. A minor or patch release never removes anything your app calls; a major release may, and its changes are listed in the changelog. Older SDK versions keep working with newer platform releases, so customers who have not updated your app can still finish their journey.

Your app can read the version it carries from `PayMediaEKYC.VERSION` on Android and `PayMediaEKYC.version` on iOS.

Requiring a minimum version

In Institution Admin, under Settings › Mobile SDK › Versions and kill switch, set the oldest SDK version an environment accepts. An app with an older SDK gets `SDK_VERSION_UNSUPPORTED` when a journey starts, carrying the same journey's web address so the customer can finish on the web while they update.

Kill switch

The kill switch stops new journeys in your app at once, for example while you investigate a problem. Journeys already running finish normally, and journeys opened from links on the web are unaffected. Apps get `SDK_DISABLED` until the switch is turned off.
